Dental treatment during coronavirus shut down

Dentistry and COVID-19

The Australian Dental Association, our professional body has set guidelines to reduce transmission of the coronavirus. As a clinic, we are following the recommendations. As health professionals in an evolving scientific environment, we are striving above all else, to not make things worse.

Urgent dental problems and coronavirus

Level 3 restrictions allow for necessary treatments.

In dentistry, social distancing cannot be observed, and non-emergency procedures will be postponed. Our staff will ask screening questions prior to booking an appointment, and again when you arrive. Please understand that as we do this with all patients, we are keeping you safe too.

Our staff are conscious of keeping themselves ‘distanced’, and will not attend for work if they come into contact with anyone who is unwell, irrespective of that person’s COVID-19 status.

Temporary change to opening hours

We will be observing slightly shorter operating hours of 9am to 4.30pm.

We hope to have staff answering all calls in the coming weeks, and as usual offer advice and information as things change. If you are in pain, or have received an injury to your teeth, we recommend phoning as soon after 9am as possible.

The science explained:Coronavirus

Professor Laurie Walsh, former Chair of the ADA Infection Control Committee, presents an informative and easy to follow overview of what we understand about the virus so far. He admits that information was accurate as of Monday, 16th March 2020, and is almost certainly already somewhat out-dated.
